Michael Murphy-Chimera Project
Everybody is a playboy - "A boardsport maniac living the dream of the endless surf – in the water and in the snow", that is Michael Murphy.
Another passion, the work with the camera, enables the former European nomad to realize his vision. Four years ago he got professional and started to work as the official club-photographer of the "Pacha" in Ibiza.
Mind blowing hard nights and a nomination for the best Spanish photographer 2003 later he set up his priorities on sportscast. His weapon - a Canon EOS D1 - is using up to 8 frames a second. "One of my best shots is a 360° Rodeo Flip on a shopping trolley", grins Michael, but his main focus is still on the boardsport sector and the Chimera Project.
The Chimera project has been based on what Michael it calls "The Theme Park Idea". As the roller coaster reaches the big final drop at the end of its run a automatic static digital camera fires. "What we do is to transfer this design to capture all the beautiful hard core wind- and kitesurf expression's."
Their presentation platform is the Chirungito Spin Out at Playa Las Dunas in Tarifa where the action is displayed on to two big plasma screens. And maybe for the first time in your life the continuing stream of images on the monitors will give you an idea about what your stylez` and skillz` in touch with the playground Atlantic are about.
For a softening price you can keep that impression not just in mind - a high standard "Playboy" pro shot will make your mates horny. | | | |
